Power Point Games

I learned how to figure things out when I didn't know them. I tried to email the professor and the TA but I needed to get things done. So I played around with the hyperlink and had to figure stuff out on my own.  I consequently learned how to hyperlink within a power point. The only problem I really had was how to set up the hyperlink, but that was resolved semi-quickly.

I plan on using jeopardy to review for tests, or for a fun activity like a pre-test. I imagine it would get kids thinking about our up coming topics and I could find out what they know and learned

Google Groups

I learned that google groups would be a great way to organize information for my students. They would have links to many articles and have all their information in one place. It is very easy to use and very helpful. I think that it would eliminate kids forgetting handouts or misplacing papers. By posting the documents here they will avoid the problem of losing things.

I think if we did a discussion board about a certain article that it would be super easy to see all your classmates ideas and be able to respond to them.  I also feel that it would be a good way to respond to research that kids are finding. If we researched something as a class we could share that information easily.

Limitations might be that kids don't have enough access to internet or computers outside of class.  They would need training on how to use the site. I'd have to be updating it a lot.  I feel that a class website could be easier than a group.

Personal technology project number 1

I learned that Prezi is a lot more entertaining than Powerpoint. I really like it and hope to become better at it in the future. It is very user friendly and all the options were right there at my finger tips. Just click and type and edit. Super easy to use.  I mean I struggled for a minute or two, but got the hang of it quickly.

I could use this for classes that don't like presentations or power points too much. This keeps it flowing and interactive and you really can't write too much text on there because it breaks it down for you and flows to the next thing.

An activity could be where I have my kids make a prezi about a certain topic and have them break down that topic. That's what I like about Prezi. You can start with the main thing and just keep zooming in and writing about that topic and break it down. Great thing. We also could use it to brainstorm Ideas as a class. I could have prezi open and right there be putting down the ideas of the kids.

All in all I thought it was a great feature that I hope to use more in the near future!
